Like the wine idea. My second daughter's godparents gave her an apple tree which is lovely to have thriving in the garden. It is an eater so I'm hoping, when my two are big enough, they will just pick and munch when the time is right. I'd also go for a NapNap Voucher but I would say that wouldn't I! We have been surprised by people asking for them for them because they want to get their baby a 'special occasion' nappy - embroidered etc. Sounds crazy I know but nappies are worn as much if not more than clothes. We did a memory box with newspapers from the day he was born and his first outfit etc which hopefully he'll love when he's older. We're also going to buy a bottle of wine from the year of his birth but need expert advice on what will keep. My eldest is 8 years old and I used to do elaborate parties... but have since pared it down so everyone is relaxed and enjoys the day.
